Cheap Software Deals

If something looks too good to be true the chances are…

Just been asked by a client, who received an email with ridiculously low software prices, how can they be doing it so cheap?

And by cheap we are talking Office 2010 Professional (Full Version) $49, Design Premium CS5 + Acrobat Pro 9.2 (Full Versions) $160, a saving of about 2k.

A quick check on the domain name, basebrood.com, shows it was registered in March 2011 and although the website states its address as 13109 Howard St. Clifton, NJ 07012 the domain was registered in Chisinau, Moldova.

With this information it doesn’t take a genius to work out it’s a scam, but without access to this information a good rule of thumb is If something looks too good to be true the chances are it is.
